Monochrome at Craft Rocket

Good morning crafters, it's challenge time at Craft Rocket.  Our theme this fortnight is Monochrome.  Doesn't have to be black and white, it could be any single colour.  Come over and check out the inspiration the DT have for you.

I have chosen black and white as it happens using this image from All Dressed Up.

I've coloured it with Promarkers and used card, paper, pearls and lace from my stash.

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Thanks for looking, you have until 7th June to link up your makes.

Final IHSW update

Hello stitchers, just a quick update from me, here's where I got to last night:

I did get my 2 rows complete although I ha to frog a bit.  The dreaded frog has visited several times this weekend where I've used completely the wrong colour and had to do it again.  As you all know, trying to unpick confetti on a 25 count HAED is difficult to say the least.  I had to resort to my stitch ripper.  Note to self - you do not know all the symbols in the key off by heart, double check before you start!

Wipocalypse and start of IHSW part 2

Hello everyone, it's Wipocalypse time again.  Hosted by Melissa at Measi's Musings.

I've been working on Treasure Hunt Bookshelf.  Here's where it was at the last Wipocalypse:

Top row complete!

Here's where I was on Friday (for the purposes of IHSW part 2)

And here's where I am this morning. I'm hoping to get the row I'm working on and another row done today but as I haven't started yet and it's lunchtime it's not looking likely!

I have 12 pages complete now and over 83,000 stitches.  Only another 200,000 to go!

Our question this month is what were you working on this time last year and have you finished it?

About this time last year I started on Bamboo Fan and no, I haven't finished it.  Since I started Treasure Hunt Bookshelf on 20th December I've only picked it up once.  This is very bad as I wanted to finish it this year.

I've filled in a bit more of the Peacock's tail and a bit more of the flowers on the left.  I really don't want to lose momentum on Treasure Hunt Bookshelf but if I don't sort out a proper rotation to include this then I'll never get it done.  And I love it, so why don't I want to stitch on it?!  Considering how quickly THB is growing, if I gave Bamboo Fan the same attention it probably wouldn't take that long either.

IHSW and Gifted Gorgeousness - late again!

Good morning everyone, I am late again with IHSW and Gifted Gorgeousness.  My husband has updated the computer and now nothing works properly so I couldn't get on to the internet yesterday.  Isn't technology great!

I have 2 updates, first is IHSW part one.  Here's Treasure Hunt Bookshelf when you last saw it:

The top row is complete and I've moved back to the second row.  I nearly have a page finish but got distracted at the weekend by a new project.  I think I will finish the page today.  Here's where I was on Monday:

And here's my Gifted Gorgeousness.  I was watching the craft channel on Saturday, there was a company on called Bobo Stitch.  They had kits for jute shopping bags where a design was stitched directly onto the bag.  I thought they look great and I happen to have 4 jute shopping bags in my stash.  I bought them at the NEC 2 years ago from Pinflair intending to do something else with them but hadn't got round to it.  So I thought I'd see what charts I have in my stash and get stitching.  I found a great chart in the second volume of Ultimate Cross Stitch Cards magazine which I bought a few weeks ago.  It took me all day on Sunday but here's what I've made:

It's a flowery sheep!  There is also a chart for a pig, rooster and dog so I might do all of them.  This will be a Christmas present for someone, probably my Mum.  I showed the picture to a friend yesterday and she asked if I would do the dog one for her.  She's not well at the moment and has a big birthday coming up in July so I would like to get it done for her in time for that.  I stitched this 4 over 1 but might try 3 over 1 for the next one.

Thanks for visiting, I will update again next week for the second part of IHSW.  I have a week off work next week so am looking forward to lots of crafting and stitching.

Hello Crafters, it's challenge time again at Craft Rocket, our theme this fortnight is Flower Power.  We'd like to see lots of flowers on your creations.

I've used a digital stamp called Mixed Flower Pot by Digital Stamp Boutique coloured with Promarkers.

The blue card and ribbon are from my stash and the sentiment was a freebie I downloaded.  The spotty paper is from my Blank Canvas paper pack.

Spotty Dotty at Unicorn

Good morning everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Unicorn.  Our theme this month is Spotty Dotty!  We would like to see spots or polka dots on your creations.

I've made a cross stitched card this month using this cute little pup with his spotty bow tie.  It was a very old cover kit from a magazine, so old I can't remember which one!

I've used card, background paper, gems and ribbon from my stash.  The sentiment is by Wild Rose.

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Thanks for looking, don't forget to come over to Unicorn, the DT have some great inspiration for you!
